Is it a good time to buy real estate?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say, if you’re buying in Incline Village, NV the answer is YES! With the continued appreciation that we’ve seen here for single family residences in complete contradiction of the national trend, it’s clear that buyers are still willing to pay a premium for this quality of life. If properties are appreciating here now, despite the national trend and media frenzy, what do you think will happen when national real estate prices recover? Appreciation should not be the main reason to buy here in Incline Village, however. Buy a home for your family’s long term needs and enjoyment and for the quality of life it provides.
While there may be a misconception out there that mortgage rates have risen in the last year, check out the "30 Year Mortgatge Fixed Rate & Points Trend" for some more perspective. As you can see, fixed rates and points are still historically low, even compared to the heyday of the last 6 years.
There are many factors that determine the appropriate time to buy real estate and these factors vary from buyer to buyer. However, savvy consumers will recognize the long-term benefits of today’s low interest rates.
