By now, you have probably received your noticed from the IRS regarding your tax rebate, courtesy of the new Economic Stimulus Package. Chances are, the IRS notice left you with more questions than answers. If you are still scratching your head in bewilderment, here are some easy notes and links to decipher your tax rebate code.
First of all, to determine the order in which to distribute checks, the IRS has decided to use the last two digits of your Social Security Number. The numbers are grouped by increasing tiers, so the lower the last two digits of your Social Security number, the sooner you will receive your rebate. When will your rebate check arrive in Incline Village, NV? We all know April 15th is right around the corner, but the rebates will start processing on May 2nd. That being said, taxpayers should try to beat the April 15th rush and send in their returns a little earlier. Better yet, file electronically so your return can be processed faster.

Evidently the IRS will be putting all direct deposits to the front of the line, wiring those rebates between May 2 and May 16, 2008.
